The funds are allocated to the school’s pastoral projects involving our volunteers and to our association, which supports complex and extreme situations both in northern Argentina and in the Balvanera neighborhood in CABA.

We share with you a bit about the activity that the little ones did during the library afternoon a few weeks ago.
We all read together the book “Palabras Semillas (Seed Words)” by Magela Demarco and Caru Grossi. A story of words and images that invites us to rethink the value and impact that the words we use have on people.
Can words sadden another person even if it wasn’t our intention? Can words also heal and “plant” beautiful feelings?
Finally, the children chose different phrases and arranged them into different categories: Words of affection, coexistence, care, hurtful words, and… SEED WORDS
We invite you to reflect on what words we sometimes choose to connect with each other in our daily lives, engaging in an activity of questions aimed at empathy in different situations and scenarios.
They had a lot of fun, and we planted many seed words to use throughout our meetings!
A few days ago, we were presenting the activities of our Association at UCA, in the Seminar on Social Issues and Social Commitment, telling the students about the challenges and needs of this year.
Four teams of students from different majors (Journalism, Marketing, Educational Psychology, Public Accounting, Food Engineering, Systems Engineering, International Relations, among others) signed up to help us continue improving our work and have a greater impact on the lives of the families we support.
We are already working together!

We wanted to let you know that at the end of last year, Ornella said goodbye to the Augustinian Social Service because our programs for the children in the Balvanera neighborhood are up to age 13.
This 2024, Orne wanted to join as a volunteer for School Support, Playroom, and Library activities, so we are happy to be able to share afternoons with her again, but this time from a different perspective: being part of the team of “teachers” who accompany the youngest in their growth!

A few weeks ago, we resumed activities with our kids, and here’s what we did!
In the library workshop, our little ones decorated the library cards to keep track of all the books they borrow throughout the year.
As their first activity, the children listened to the story of a girl who, after receiving a box of colors as a gift, realizes the number of worlds she can create through painting and drawing (“Julieta y su caja de colores (Julieta and her box of colours” by Pellicer López). Based on this story, we provided all kinds of materials for the children to create their own “book loan cards.”
With these ID cards, the children can borrow a book to take home. This helps them take care of the materials, be responsible for returning the book they borrow, and above all, share a moment of reading and new stories with their families.
We want to tell you that a new group of 5th-year students from the San Martin de Tours Institute has joined as teachers in the School Support classes of the Agustinian Social Service to help our little ones with their homework.
Thanks to this wonderful commitment by the San Martin de Tours Institute and the students, the kids from ASS feel more supported. Additionally, the ISMT students not only get to know a reality different from their own but also help change it.
