In 2004, the Gregorio Mendel Civil Association opened the doors of the Augustinian Social Service, aiming to meet the undeniable need of the Balvanera neighborhood for an educational and recreational space for children.

Many institutions, volunteers, professionals, and supportive families came together with the Augustinian Social Service to launch a space filled with activities that would bring the community together.

This year marks our 10th anniversary, supporting and accompanying families in a healthy environment for recreation, education, and support for children from the age of 2.

The Augustinian Social Service comprises a library space, a playroom, a playful-educational workshop for children aged 2 and 3, popular soccer, and academic support projects.

2014 is a year of celebration, and we want to celebrate it with all of you who help us continue to grow.

Through our website, we will keep you updated on all the latest news from the Social Service to continue working together on this GREAT project.

“Por un hogar digno (For a dinified home)” is a new project born out of a critical need among families residing in the city of Santa María, Catamarca, and neighboring hillside villages, related to housing issues.

Here we generally find large families currently living in very small and precarious housing conditions. This is due to their low incomes, which prevent them from building their own homes. Additionally, they often rely on natural materials such as straw, stones, mud, etc.

This project carried out by OSAC aims to initially help two families. One of them is María’s family, who has seven children and one grandchild. Their house has only two rooms and urgently needs to build at least one more room.

The second family lives in the town of Los Saltos and urgently needs to repair the roof of their home, which was damaged due to an accidental fire.
