“Yesterday, an 11-year-old girl was murdered, and her killer was a 14-year-old teenager…”
Whenever these things happen that deeply hurt my soul and emotionally mobilize society, this question comes to my mind:
“What are we doing, besides protesting and demanding from the government and politicians?”
“We can’t wait any longer for them to take care of it; being horrified and lamenting doesn’t solve the problem either.” “After a few days, we will go back to our routine as if nothing happened, until the next tragedy, which hopefully, we won’t be a part of.”
“There are many of us who work every day to prevent young people from falling into drugs, to instill values in them, and to make them aware that with effort, they can succeed and break free from repeating painful histories. There are many of us, but it’s still not enough…” “We need help…”
“You can do something, we all can do something… you can join as a volunteer at a church or NGO that does this kind of work, or sponsor them.” “If you’re a journalist, you can spread their work, and there are countless ways to offer support, depending on your profession.”
“I’ve been a witness to changes in children for over 17 years, changes that are wonderful…”
“Let’s not resign ourselves to the fact that our society is getting worse and worse.” “Do something to make things different.”
“When we commit ourselves, reality changes.”
